Purpose
Ratio Classica exists to advance the recovery of Classical Theology and Philosophy, fostering the renewal of Christian orthodoxy and the preservation of Western Civilization.
Vision
To cultivate a renewal of Classical Theology and Philosophy in service to the Church and the public square by preserving the inheritance of Christian orthodoxy and Western civilization through faithful scholarship, doctrinal clarity, and cultural reformation.
Mission
Retrieve
Retrieve the enduring wisdom of Classical Theology and Philosophy, as faithfully transmitted through the Great Tradition of the Church and codified within the Reformed confessions. This work involves a thoughtful recovery of the intellectual, moral, and spiritual inheritance of Western Civilization and Classical Christianity—manifest in the doctrinal formulations, liturgical patterns, and theological methods that have shaped the Church’s historic witness across the centuries.
Revive
Revive the doctrinal, philosophical, and liturgical practices of Classical Christianity mediated through the Reformed tradition and its Patristic and Medieval heritage. The aim of this project is to recover historic principles and methods from the Great Tradition and Reformed Orthodoxy—such as Scholastic philosophy, meditative reading, pre-critical exegesis, and traditional liturgical forms—which once cultivated a healthy intellectual and cultural flourishing within the Church and society .
Reform
Reform the local church by restoring classical modes of theological formation and liturgical order that have historically shaped its doctrine, worship, and public witness. This renewal aims to cultivate a Church capable of defending Christian orthodoxy, forming virtue, and contributing to the preservation of Western Civilization against the moral and cultural decay of modern society.
